![]() In a smaller grid, you should have less roads so, if your grid is 20 squares big, you should have only 3 roads parallel to each other to maximize space and so on. Now, we all are far from the 40x40 grid, it doesn't matter, if you use this model having a 20x26 space is the same principle.the less roads the best. Remember, in all my models the one road connecting all the roads is dead in the border, but if you want you can place it in the middle, your choice. The number means how many squares between roads. They all have the town hall in the corner, 1 road leaving from it, 5 more roads parallel, and a last road connecting them perpendicularly. You seem to do ok with your roads, although i suspect youll be doing a major reorg of the entire city fairly soon. You should use combinations of them, BUT REMEMBER, the ultimate space saver is to use 6 roads parallel to each other (the shortest one is the one going out of the Town Hall) and 1 connecting them perpendicularly. Generally road placement is the key, twists, turns, redundancy, too much contact, hooking up to the wrong side of a building, there is a long list of mistakes to avoid. You can make them of 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 or even 8 spaces between roads. Now as you will see in the pictures, you can play with the space between your roads. This road might be crossing the center of the grid or in one of the borders, your choice, is the same space anyway. Then use ONLY ONE ROAD perpendicularly to connect them. The best way to place the roads and maximize space is to make ALL roads PARALLEL with the one going out the town hall. The full grid is compose of 40x40 squares. ONE ROAD means only one square in the grid touches the town hall, then connect all roads to it. From the Town Hall ONLY ONE ROAD should connect it. CoA, Zeus, Traz, Arc, GT, LoA, OBS, Babel, placed and a CdM planned with space cleared for whenever I get the goods. Trying to figure out what I want to do with my city ATM. It is more efficient placing the town hall in a corner and start from there. Already got some ideas from experience and guildies but Id like a fresh set of eyes. (there is also the one road alone and one horizontal with the town but Ive found that that aproach will give you odd spaces between roads in the long run, not good to accommodate buildings)ĭoing research, players recommend either placing the Town Hall in a corner or dead in the center. The maximum grid space can be achieve if you only have one road going out of the Town Hall. It is essential to use the less roads/trails you can. The more space you save, the more buildings you can accommodate. After many layouts on paper I think I've found the ultimate grid space saver. I've spend some time figuring out how to maximize the space in the grid. The grid layout is really interesting and mind-burning at first.
